چکیده
ABSTRACT We present mordor (MORphological DecOmposeR), a new algorithm for structural decomposition of simulated galaxies based on stellar kinematics. The code measures the properties up to five components (a thin/cold and thick/warm disc, classical secular bulge, spherical halo), determines bar (if present). A comparison with other algorithms presented in literature yields overall good agreement, displaying higher flexibility correctly decomposing systems identifying bars crowded environments (e.g. ongoing fly-bys, often observable cosmological simulations). use analyse TNG50 simulation find following: (i) thick disc component undergoes strongest evolution binding energy-circularity plane, as expected when decrease their turbulent-rotational support cosmic time; (ii) smaller (with mass, $10^{9} \lesssim M_{*}/~\rm M_{\odot }\le 5 \times 10^{9}$) undergo major growth after z ∼ 1, whereas (iii) most massive ($5 10^{10} \lt 5\times 10^{11}$) evolve towards more spheroidal dominated objects down = 0 due frequent gravitational interactions satellites; (iv) fraction barred grows rapidly at high redshift stabilizes below 2, except that show occupation low redshift; (v) $M_{*} \sim 10^{11}~~\rm }$ exhibit highest relative occurrence 0, agreement observational studies. publicly release morphological catalogue galaxies.

Morphological Evolution of Galaxies
We simulate the growth of large-scale structure, for 3 different cosmological models, an Einstein-de Sitter model (density parameter Ω0 = 1), an open model (Ω0 = 0.2) and a flat model with nonzero cosmological constant (Ω0 = 0.2, cosmological constant λ0 = 0.8), using a cosmological N-body code (PM) with 64 dark matter particles in a comoving cubic volume of present comoving size 128 Mpc. The c...
متن کاملE+A and Companion Galaxies - I : A Catalogue and Statistics
Based on our intensive spectroscopic campaign with the GoldCam spectrograph on the Kitt Peak National Observatory (KPNO) 2.1-m telescope, we have constructed the first catalogue of E+A galaxies with spectroscopic companion galaxies, and investigated a probability that an E+A galaxy have close companion galaxies. We selected 660 E+A galaxies with 4.0Å < Hδ EW at a redshift of < 0.167 from the Da...
متن کاملThe Morphological Classification of Galaxies
Much of what is known about galaxies began with a simple classification of their forms as seen on direct blue-light plates. This classification continues to be useful at a time when galaxies have never been better understood. The reason for this is that morphology contains information on the dynamics and evolution of galaxies in spite of the fact that the features dominating the appearance may ...
متن کاملThe morphological evolution of galaxies.
Many galaxies have taken on their familiar appearance relatively recently. In the distant Universe, galaxy morphology deviates significantly (and systematically) from that of nearby galaxies at redshifts (z) as low as 0.3. This corresponds to a time approximately 3.5 x 10(9) years in the past, which is only approximately 25% of the present age of the Universe. Beyond z = 0.5 (5 x 10(9) years in...
متن کاملlexical decomposition awareness and its effect on delayed receptive and productive recognition and recall of vocabulary knowledge of morphologically complex english words: an iranian efl context
abstract lexical knowledge of complex english words is an important part of language skills and crucial for fluent language use (nation, 2001). the present study, thus, was an attempt to assess the role of morphological decomposition awareness as a vocabulary learning strategy on learners’ productive and receptive recall and recognition of complex english words. so 90 sophomores (female and ma...
